Our Toddler 1 Program

Toddler 1

A warm beginning for movement, language, and exploration.

The Toddler 1 Program supports young children as they become more mobile, expressive, and curious about the world around them. Through responsive care, familiar routines, and purposeful play, teachers help each child build trust, practice new skills, and develop the confidence to explore at an individual pace.

Growing Through Movement, Connection, and Discovery

The early toddler stage brings exciting changes in movement, communication, and independence. Our classroom provides a secure, engaging environment with daily opportunities for movement, sensory discovery, music, stories, and hands-on play. Teachers stay close, respond warmly, and offer encouragement as children try new things and begin discovering what they can do.

Movement, Language, and Hands-On Play

Learning Through Active Exploration

Young toddlers learn with their whole bodies. Our teachers provide safe, developmentally appropriate experiences that encourage children to move, investigate, communicate, and solve simple problems. Activities are introduced with flexibility so each child can participate at a comfortable pace.

  • Large blocks, stacking toys, and nesting cups
  • Songs, rhymes, and simple movement games
  • Board books and picture conversations
  • Safe sensory experiences with varied textures
  • Crawling, cruising, balancing, and walking practice
  • Cause-and-effect and early problem-solving activities
  • Simple art and early mark-making experiences
  • Side-by-side play and early social interaction

Partnership With Families

Consistency From Home to Classroom

Strong family communication helps young toddlers feel understood and supported. Teachers share meaningful updates about meals, rest, diapering, mood, classroom experiences, and emerging milestones so parents remain connected to their child’s day.

We collaborate with families around comfort routines, new skills, developmental changes, and classroom transitions. This partnership helps us provide responsive care while creating a familiar and reassuring experience for each child.

Familiar routines and open communication help young toddlers feel secure, understood, and ready to learn.

A Confident Start for What Comes Next

Toddler 1 creates a bridge between infant care and a more active toddler classroom. Children build comfort with routines, strengthen emerging movement and communication skills, and discover the satisfaction of doing more for themselves. We celebrate each new step while providing the reassurance and support young toddlers still need.
